Introducing Nick Nicholson
Keep an eye out for this new country artist, Nick Nicholson. He’s an East Tennessee native, from the Gray area I’ve been told, and he presently resides in Arizona.
Nick’s bio says he “grew up at the knee of his musical father, and learned to sing not only with his voice, but with his soul.” He said he wants people to feel what he sings. He started entertaining when he was 12 years old.
He served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and volunteers his time and talents at veterans’ events throughout the year.
Nick said he was inspired by Ray Charles, Conway Twitty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis, and his dad. He said his own sound can be best described as rockin’ country. He has opened for a number of national acts in the Phoenix, Ariz. area – including Travis Tritt, Neal McCoy, Mark Wills, Eric Church, Ray Scott, Rodney Atkins, and Chris Young.
I haven’t had much opportunity to listen to Nick yet, but I do like what I’ve heard, particularly “Real Women Drive Pick-up Trucks,” and “Somethin’ Somethin’.
While Nick seems to be staying mostly in the Arizona area right now, he will be in Nashville June 6-8 during the CMA Music Festival (Fan Fair).
If you know anyone making a name for themselves in the world of Country music, let me know… I’d be more than happy to get something about them posted here.
