I got a little information today about the Appalachian Fair in Gray, TN (Aug. 18-23). The reason for the question mark after the title of this post is because when a friend of mine called the fair office to find out who was going to be there this year, she was told “None of these dates are confirmed.” So – that’s how I’m going to present it to you.
Tracy Lawrence is on the “tentative” schedule for opening night, Monday, Aug. 18. Tracy certainly has a full schedule on his web site. But right now, the Gray fair is not listed.
I’ve always been a fan, but have never had the opportunity to see him perform live. My favorite Tracy Lawrence songs are probably “If the World had a Front Porch,” “Paint Me a Birmingham,” “Texas Tornado,” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.” So, Tracy, I hope you make it to Gray, we’d love to have you.
Next, we have Emerson Drive. Also a tentative date – Tuesday, Aug. 19. I love this group. I’ve never seen them do anything, and it would be great to have them at our Fair this year. They will be appearing in Webster, Mass. on Aug. 17, and then have the next day off (hopefully for traveling). But, they still don’t have the 19th scheduled on their web page. I’m hoping we’ll be able to confirm their Appalachian Fair appearance soon.
Wednesday, Aug. 20, we are supposed to have Craig Morgan. I hope so … I’ve seen him before – he’s definitely worth seeing again. He will be appearing in Sterling Colorado on Aug. 9, and then has nothing on his tour schedule on his web site until Aug. 21 when he will be in Randolph, Ohio. So hopefully, he will soon be confirmed for Aug. 20 in Gray.
And the last Appalachian Fair date that I have so far is Saturday, Aug. 23. That night, we have (tentatively at least), the group Jypsi. I haven’t heard anything yet about Thursday and Friday for the Appalachian Fair.
Be honest with me – when I said Jypsi, how many of you sat back in your chair and said, “Who?” I think they’ve only had one song out – At least only one that I can remember, but I did like it. It was called “I Don’t Love You Like That.” And it really hasn’t been all that long ago since it was playing on country radio everywhere.
That’s all for this time – remember to let me know when you guys hear something I haven’t heard, so we can pass it on to the rest of the country music lovers! You guys have a nice night… I’ll talk to you soon.
