I know there are a lot of Toby Keith fans out there, I’m one of them. I’ve only seen him in concert once, and he put on a fantastic show. But what I didn’t know, and maybe you didn’t know either, is that he is not only one of the biggest earning stars in country music, but he’s actually one of the biggest earning stars in the whole music industry.
He was third on Forbes list of the highest paid music stars, pulling in $48 million this past year. He was the only country entertainer in Forbes’ top 5, which also included The Police, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Madonna.
In addition to his tours, records, and Ford Truck commercials, Toby also owns a chain of restaurants. I’ve always liked Toby – how many of you remember his song, “Me, Too” from his Blue Moon CD? “Me, Too” is actually one of my favorite Toby songs (one of many!).
Carrie Underwood, the youngest person ever inducted into the Grand Ole Opry (at age 25), has added more tour dates to her Carnival Ride Tour. I have a feeling this young lady will be sitting right up there with Toby soon, on that list of highest earning entertainers.
I’ve never seen her in concert. But a friend got to see her in North Carolina with Keith Urban last year, and sent this picture (and several others) my way. Carrie has one thing going for her – I think a lot of people will agree that she has never put out a bad song.
Charlie Daniels, Phil Vassar, Rodney Adkins, Heidi Newfield and Montgomery Gentry are among the artists scheduled to perform on Nov. 24, at Ryman Auditorium. The 7 p.m. concert is the 12th annual Christmas for Kids Benefit Concert. Money raised will go to the Christmas for Kids organizaiton, which gives children the chance to participate in a day-long Christmas shopping spree.
More artists will be announced closer to the date. For information, and to order tickets when they are available, click here.
That’s all for now. Talk to you guys soon. Thanks for the e-mails and pictures. You’re helping me build a very large photo album! I appreciate that. Talk to you all soon!
