James Otto 3 James Otto has been added to the lineup for the fifth annual American Freedom Festival. The benefit concert will be held Oct. 25, at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. Tickets are still available at ticketmaster.com.

Trace Adkins and Alan Jackson are also scheduled to perform. The event will be broadcast by the Pentagon Channel to 360 military bases around the world. In fact, it is scheduled for go to 177 countries this year.

James is a 2008 CMA award nominee for New Artist of the Year. He’s keeping his schedule full, and you can keep up with  his concert dates by checking out his web site.

With two hits out there already, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of James Otto. This picture was taken by Brittany Johnson, at the Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va. earlier in September.

Kellie Pickler 184 Kellie PIckler’s second album will hit stores on Sept. 30, and to promote the self-titled CD, she has been making appearances on television talk shows . She will be on Live With Regis and Kelly on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Kellie will perform her latest single, and of course do an interview with Regis and Kelly.

She’s still touring with Sugarland, and will continue that after she finishes up her television appearances in New York. She is scheduled to join the tour in Ames, Iowa. Kellie said she is thrilled  to be on the Sugarland tour this fall. In her words, "They are not only incredible musicians and performers, but they are sweet, lovely people." I think we would all agree with her on that one.

560291-R1-11-13A_012 - Copy Joe Diffie, singer/songwriter, and member of the Grand Ole Opry, has signed with Rounder Records. I am so happy to see Joe back in the recording studio. I have been a long-time Joe Diffie fan, and really love his music. "Ships That Don’t Come In" is probably my favorite of all his songs.

Joe started off in bluegrass, and his new album, scheduled for release in the spring of 2009, will be a bluegrass album.

In addition to 12 No. 1 records of his own, and 20 top 10 hits, and four gold and platinum albums, he has also written hits for Tim McGraw, Tracy Lawrence, Conway Twitty, Doug Stone, Jody Messina, and Holly Dunn.

017_17 - Copy (2) On Nov. 11, Charlie Daniels will be releasing the live concert DVD package Preachin’, Prayin’, Singin’ with Charlie Daniels & Friends: Live from Nashville, distributed through KOCH Records.

When Charlie performed in Nashville 2005, to debut songs from his album Songs From the Long Leaf Pines, he invited several of his bluegrass heroes up on stage to jam.

The DVD will include Charlie’s band playing with Earl Scruggs Review, and the music of his close friend, Mac Wiseman.

You will also get to hear some interviews and behind-the-scenes conversation with Charlie, Earl, Mac, and others who were all a part of that Opry night in 2005.

There’s a little news for you all tonight. Please keep in touch – I love getting mail from you. And remember, if you have photos to share, news, or I’ve made a mistake you need to correct, just drop me a line. Have a great rest of your evening, and a super tomorrow!
