Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Here’s another item you might want to buy for that little someone special in your life. Tim McGraw has published a book that he wrote for his daughters, called My Little Girl. The book was written about a dad, in a dark cowboy hat (imagine that), who spends a fun day with his daughter – not really doing anything in particular.
Faith Hill wrote the forward for the book, and says "I hope this story provides quality time for fathers and daughters to enjoy each other’s company and make memories reading together." Tim said that despite the fact he wrote the book in honor of his girls, they’re not exactly enthused. "If it doesn’t have Chris Brown or the Jonas Brothers involved, they don’t care," he said jokingly.
James Otto recently had to cancel some Meet & Greets with his fans. Anyone who ever went to a concert, and goy to stand in that meet and greet line for a quick hello, photo, autograph and hug from your favorite entertainer, knows that this is a pretty big deal for the fans.
But James was sick, and said on a post on his blog, "I promise it was for the best. I have been sick and nobody should get sick from me, or get me sicker and have to cancel shows. I hope you understand. I’ll see you all soon."
They probably understand, but I’m sure they were still real disappointed that the Meet & Greets were canceled.
Be sure to keep up with all of James’ upcoming concerts on his web page. The entertainers usually put whether or not Meet and Greet passes are available when they list their schedules.
Kix Brooks has been in the wine business since 2005, when he started Arrington Vinyards. The event was a benefit for Community Renewal International. Go here for the full article.
Brooks and Dunn have some have a tour schedule (complete with available meet and greets), music, bios, and just about anything else you could want on their web space. So visit there when you have time to keep up with what this duo is doing these days.

It’s calendar time. Yesterday I told you about the calendar that will be out in Country Weekly (and several other magazines), with some of our favorite country singers and Chevys. Keith Urban is also putting out a 2009 calendar, and it can be pre-ordered at his web site. Proceeds from the calendar will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The calendars will be shipped mid-November.
In a recent interview, Kenny Rogers, who is currently touring in Australia, said that as long as people keep paying him to perform, he will. "I’ve really tried to retire a couple of times. I raised my price this year and I’ve worked more this year than I have the last three years, so I might raise it again next year and then I’ll just keep raising it till they quit paying it and then I’ll retire." Hey Kenny, stop and think about the fans! The ones going to see you are the ones getting hit with your price increase, not the club owners. (More of the Interview here).
