I’ve heard this rumor before, but here it is again. It seems Tim McGraw is thinking about running for governor of Tennessee in 2010. If that’s real, he best get out there and start campaigning. Like most country music fans, I love Tim McGraw – his singing, and his acting. I think he’s great.
But, before I would vote for the man for governor of Tennessee, I would really like to know exactly what he thinks makes him qualified to run the state. Where does he stand on the issues this state is facing right now – education, health insurance, transportation, and more.
Don’t wait till early in 2010 and let us all know you’re going on the ballot – let us know starting now just what we could expect Gov. Tim McGraw to do for this great state of Tennessee. Roy Acuff ran for the job in 1948 – he lost. (Thank you, I’m climbing off my soap box now.) Tim did say in a January 2006 interview with People Magazine, that he had “no immediate plans to enter politics,” but he added “Maybe in 10 or 15 years when the music has died down.” I don’t believe your music is going to die down any time soon, Tim.
Have you seen the video for Alan Jackson’s “Country Boy” yet? I like Alan, and I do watch CMT as much as I can – but between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s almost like everything gets put on hold to prepare for the upcoming holidays. So if you missed it, too – check it out here.
Alan has a few more 2009 tour dates up on his web site. I believe tickets are now available for all of the shows he has listed, so you might want to jump over there and see how close he will be to your area – and when.
Those of you who went to Hendersonville, Tenn., and saw Chris Young, and the rest at the artists at the Christmas for Kids Tour Bus Show on Monday, please send me some photos from inside their ride! I’d like to get them up here to share with all of my readers. This is another photo of Chris I took at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn. last year. I also had one in my Dec.15 post). I would have loved to gone to Hendersonville to see him again.Maybe next year. (I met him in Gray, and he is not only a great entertainer – he is also super nice to his fans. He’s a great guy.)
That’s it for now. Busy, busy – you guys done your Christmas shopping yet? I’m not – and I don’t even do that much shopping anymore. So, I’ll be off to the mall again sometime very soon… and I’ll talk to you all later. Have a great day!
