Have you seen the promos for American Idol? They’re getting ready to start Season 8, and I’m ready for them. I love that show. I have no idea why, but I really do. I suppose it makes sense that they would use their most successful Idol to promote the new season. Here’s what’s been showing around the country to get everyone ready for the new season.
I’ve noticed whenever Carrie wins an award, or talks about her start, she is always quick to thank the folks at American Idol for the jump start they gave her career. I think that’s nice. Others I’ve seen win awards or talk about their career seem to forget where it all began for them.
Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley proposed to his girlfriend, Cassie McConnell, on Christmas morning. That’s so romantic. They haven’t set a wedding date yet. Charles is 27, and his fiance is 25. She’s a publicist, and Charles (along with Hillary and Dave) will be touring with Keith Urban later this year. Us Magazine reported the engagement.
I got to see Lady A open for Jason Aldean last spring- that was one of the shows where Eric Durrance opened for Lady A. It was a great show. I’m ready for another concert, if anyone wants to head my direction.
CMT has announced their top 20 videos of the year. Carrie is at the top with “Just A Dream.” “All I Want to Do” took the second spot. “Shiftwork,” “You’re Gonna Miss This” AND “Picture to Burn” finish off the top five. James Otto grabbed number six with “Just Got Started Lovin’ You,” with Alan Jackson’s “Small Town Southern Man,” in the seventh spot. Eighth was “Letter to Me,” number nine was “All summer Long,” and George Strait finished the top 10 with Troubadour. You can get the complete list by clicking here.
I’ll talk to you all later. Thanks for all the mail! I’ll get back to you just as quickly as I can.
