I’m home from the Christmas parade, and it’s just too cold to go to anymore of the ones scheduled for today. The parade I went to was in Bristol, TN/VA, and it was a great one. I just wish they had some way to make it a little warmer for those of us standing out watching the bands, floats and fire trucks go by. But it was fun.
For those of you who saw Taylor Swift on the Grammy Nomination show, and wondered how in the world this little thing (who sang most of the old Brenda Lee classic off key) could possibly have the number one country album right now … here’s how. This clip is from Taylor’s recent appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Way to go Taylor. You definitely do best with songs you write for yourself.

Broken Bow Records has a new artist on their team now – Krista Marie is someone we’re probably going to be hearing a lot from in the near future. She was born in western New York state. Her mom taught voice and piano and performed in local choral and theater groups. He dad was a world renowned classical accordionist, and an accomplished pianist. Krista got involved in music in school, and worked summers in theme parks and a singer and dancer.
But, she also had a great love of motorcycles, ATVs and racing mini stock cars. Krista says Music and racing are so much alike. “You are only as good as the team that backs you. For success in music, you depend on the lighting and sound professionals, the road crew, managers, record label, producer, publisher, band members and co-writers. In racing, it is the pit crew, mechanics and trainers who help keep you out front,” she said.
Here’s a video of Krista Marie, a young lady who seems to have a real “Need for Speed.”
It looks like Tim and Faith like to do everything together – or at least what one does, the other one wants to do, too. Tim wrote a book, Faith wrote a book, Tim sings, Faith Sings, Tim has a cologne, and now Faith has introduced a new perfume to the market.
Coty, the same brand that has Tim’s cologne called “McGraw,” will be marketing Faith’s new perfume. “We were looking again for an iconic American celebrity who incarnates traditional American Values and fragrance values to the mass market, and Faith fits that to perfection,” a spokesperson from Coty told Women’s Wear Daily.
Don’t expect to see the new fragrance in time for Christmas stockings this year. The new fragrance is tentatively set to launch fall/winter 2009, and will be distributed in major retailers across North America. Marketing plans for the fragrance are currently in development.
What did Faith had to say about all this? "I had no idea of how exciting and creative it would be to work not only with a great company like Coty, but with some of the leading perfumers in the world," said Faith. "In one respect, putting out a fragrance is like releasing a new album — you just hope that everyone will enjoy it."
That’s all for now. Talk to you later. Have a fun rest of your weekend! And drop me a note when you have time.
