TimMcGnew Country Weekly magazine is reporting that Tim McGraw will be part of a special lineup of performers honoring Neil Diamond, as the 2009 MusicCares Person of the Year. The event will take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 6.

Neil is being honored for his artistic achievements, and his ongoing work with charity. Raul Malo,who was the lead vocalist for the Mavericks; Josh Groban, Jennifer Hudson, Adele and the band Coldplay, and Foo Fighters will are also scheduled to be a part of this night.

 

Performers who have received this honor in the past include Don Henley, of the Eagles; Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and more.

I don’t know if the 2009 MusicCares Person of the Year event will be televised, but I’m sure we’ll find out before the Feb. 6 date rolls around. In the meantime, here’s an old Neil Diamond video. And, it’s a Neil Diamond song that probably most of us remember.
