You have got to love this about Kenny. In 2008, he had the fourth largest tour (according to Pollstar). Kenny finished behind Madonna, Celine Dion (who had an extended Vegas run), and The Eagles. But you know what? Kenny also offered the least expensive tickets!
“It’s not about the money, it’s about the fans,” Kenny said in an article on the Country Standard Time web site. “There will always be tours that gross more than us because I believe in trying to make it possible for anyone who wants to come out and rock with us to be able to do it. "To me, I measure how successful these tours are by the faces we see – and last year, I saw some pretty happy people everywhere we went.” You can read the full article by clicking here.
More than a million people got to see Kenny on tour last year. And I have no doubt he will have even more at his concerts this year. Keep your eye on those sites giving you all the tour dates, so you can see how close Kenny will get to your area. As I told you a week or more ago, the only one I know about right now is the opening date, Aug. 15, at Gillette Stadium near Boston.
Here’s an older video of a radio interview Kenny did. (Those radio guys get to spend time with everybody!) I love YouTube.
The photo at the left was taken by Lisa Perkins of Elizabethton, Tenn., when she got to travel to Nashville last year and see Kenny in concert at LP Field (where the Tennessee Titans play). Jennifer Nettles, Leeann Rimes and Keith Urban were also on the stage that day.
That will take care of this one. I appreciate all the mail – please keep it coming my direction. I have most of you answered again (I know, I know – sometimes it takes me a little while), but I really love hearing from you.
