Jake Owen’s new CD, “Easy Does It,” went on sale yesterday. And I don’t have my copy yet, but I will. I really enjoy Jake’s music, and Jake. those of you who have been reading Country’s Chatter for a while know that I not only got to meet Jake at the Appalachian Fair last summer, I also got to spend quite a bit of time with him. And not just me.
After a sound check that was actually a whole concert, Jake came out to the WXBQ tent for his on-air interview with deejay Marc Tragler. And after the interview, he just stayed out there, with all of us. And that was great. He hopped on a 4-wheeler for a spin around the fairgrounds; signed autographs; posed for pictures … and all of that was even before the Meet & Greet.
I’m hearing rumors that Jake might be back in this area in the fall for a night at another local fair – here’s hoping. This is one entertainer who really has a ‘boy next door’ personality. He’s very easy to talk to – but I have to admit, he’s a whole lot better looking than the boys next door to me. (Sorry, neighbors).
Jake is in New York City tonight, and will head to Atlanta on the 27th for a show at Wild Bill’s. Then on to Plant City, Fla., for the annual Strawberry Festival. Jake also has shows in Kansas City, Little Rock, Ark., Louisville, Ky., Greeneville S.C., and Charlotte, N.C. in the weeks ahead. And, you can get all of those tour dates on his web page.
Here’s one of my favorite Jake Owen songs. I didn’t tape this, but it looks like Jake enjoys performing in a pair of holey jeans and a white t-shirt, cause that’s what he had on when I took the photo at the right at the Appalachian Fair. At least when he does a lot of traveling, he won’t need to carry too much luggage.
Later – I’m off to work. I’ll answer some of your mail tonight, I have a little pile that I really need to get done. Have a great Wednesday.
