I just love reading things written by people who know how to write. I’m more the kind of writer who just takes what I’m thinking and puts it down on a piece of paper. Usually that means without paying a lot of attention to grammar, spelling, or any of the other things that make great writers great.
That’s one reason I was very happy to stumble on an article written by Cindy Watts of The Tennessean (Nashville’s newspaper). The article is about my very favorite new artist in world of country music, Randy Houser. You can read the article here.
You guys have been hearing me talk about Randy since last early last spring, when WXBQ started playing his debut single, “Anything Goes”. And, I talked even more about him since June, when he performed at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City. And, I guarantee you I’ll be talking a whole lot more about this fantastic entertainer in the future.
Before I tell you about the new single, I really need to put this up here for you guys. If you aren’t smiling now, get ready to smile, cause this is a great clip of Randy laughing! His laugh is unmistakable and unique. Here you go….How cute is this!
Now that we’re all done laughing…. The article did say that Randy’s next single, the follow-up to “Anything Goes,” will be released to radio later this month. If you have his fantastic CD, you’ve already heard it. The single will be “Boots On”.
“Anything Goes,” the single – is currently at Number 16 on Country’s Top 40, and on Billboard. “Anything Goes,” the album – is hours and hours and hours of fantastic listening! The CD went on sale back in November, and if any of you don’t have your copy yet, you just don’t know what you’re missing. Randy is an awesome singer, and writer. And I know you guys are going to enjoy his music a lot. (The photo at the left is Randy with a few fans at Winged Deer Park last June).
The article talks a little about Randy’s home in Mississippi, his Dad, music influences… It’s great reading. so click on over there and see what the world is talking about.
And I just have to end with this video. For any of you who go to bed early, and missed Randy’s appearance on Late Night with David Letterman last August … here you go! Yep, another visit to YouTube.
I know you’ll all like “Boots On,” the new single for Randy. Just remember to call your radio stations and get it on for us! That air time is important for the artists, and when we’ve got one as great as Randy Houser, we really need to get behind him and show him some support.
That’s all for now. I spent a while answering e-mail yesterday. And I’ll get to more tonight. So if I still owe you one, be patient with me. I’ll get you just as quickly as I can. More later!
Love you guys,
