This very large, very impressive piece of architecture is the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It is the building where Taylor Swift will be in concert on May 22. It is also the building she sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale earlier this week. Taylor’s fans managed to grab every available ticket in a record two minutes!
The Staples Center is also where the 51st Annual Grammy Awards will take place tonight, and of course be broadcast live.(CBS p.m. EST). Taylor will be at the event, and is scheduled for perform the song “Fifteen”, from her Fearless CD. Miley Cyrus will be joining Taylor for a special duet version of the song.
The Los Angeles concert in May will be the first on Taylor’s tour this year. Tickets for the other shows will go on sale on Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m.
I remember a very long time ago (maybe 20 years ago), when I got up early to buy my tickets for a Randy Travis concert in Bristol, Tenn. They sold out in about 15 minutes, which at that time was just not done. Because of the obvious interest in Randy, promoters held him over another day, and did a Sunday afternoon concert at the facility. That one also sold out.
That might be something for our entertainers to think about. Their fans obviously want to see them, and they’re already in the area (hopefully in a very nice hotel). So, they can hang around an extra day, put on a second show without having to travel at all, and most likely still make it to the next place that was on their schedule. I’m sure a lot of Taylor fans would be really happy if she could put a second show in Los Angeles in May.
Here’s a clip from Ryan Seacrest’s radio show when he talked to Taylor and Miley about their Grammy duet.
And remember to check out Taylor’s CSI episode. This is scheduled to air Thursday night, March 5.
Here’s another picture from that show. They’re just about everywhere on the Internet now, for those of you who just can’t get enough Taylor – you can search around (Google is a good place to start), and you find them everywhere. Just remember to watch Thursday, March 5.
That will put me out of here for a while. I’ve got stuff to do. And it’s a very nice day. Our second in a row in the 60’s. I can handle that. I’d like to think winter was over, but I’m not looking for robins and tulips quite yet.
More later – you guys write when you have time. You make checking e-mail fun!
