We’re starting to hear little rumblings about who might be coming to our local fairs this summer and fall, but nothing has been announced officially yet. One of those rumblings is saying we’ll have Zac Brown Band at the Washington County Fair in Abingdon,Va., in September. Will I go? You can count on it.
Zac Brown Band’s debut single “Chicken Fried,” has sold more than a million copies and received its official RIAA Gold certification by surpassing 500,000 sales. I think that’s great. I love the little song. It’s one of those songs I don’t seem to be able to hear enough. And of course every time I do hear it, I spend the next six hours singing it.
The band is also nominated for the AMC Top New Vocal Duo or Group award. This is one of the fan voted awards this year.So if you’d like to vote for your favorite, go to GACTV.com. The voting is going on now and will continue through Thursday, March 5.
The guys are going on a cruise, leaving Saturday, Feb. 28 – they’ll be cruising around until March 6. That cruise leaves from Miami, Fla., and is a Cayamo Cruise. On March 7, they jump right back to work at Maverick’s in Jacksonville. Springfield, Ill. will get them on March 13 at Prairie Capital Convention Center, and on March 14, they head over to Iowa for a show at Adler Theater – that one with Little Big Town. They have tour dates up on their web site through the middle of June, so be sure to head on over there and find out when the guys will be near you.
Here’s Zac Brown Band doing “Whatever It Is.” I like this song, too.
Talk to you guys soon. Have a great Friday!
