CMH Records, based in Los Angeles, will be release Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Dolly Parton, on March 24. The folks over at That Nashville Sound said this is the latest in a series of infant remakes, and the CD will feature such familiar titles as “Coat of Many Colors,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Here You Come Again,” and “Love is Like a Butterfly.” I love those songs — but I never really thought that as lullaby type music.
Speaking of Dolly – It’s almost media day at Dollywood! I’ll be heading down to Pigeon Forge for the event, and to see the opening of Dolly’s newest attraction, Imagine’.
The media will visit the theme park on Friday, March 27, and that night, Dolly will be in the lead float of her annual parade down the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Dolly is always on hand at the park for the media to take pictures, ask questions and get to see all of the new things at the park for the new season. The park opens to the public on Saturday, March 28.
I look forward to media day at Dollywood every year. Last year, there were so many celebrities on hand for the unveiling of the new Porter Wagoner exhibit. And I’m sure this year won’t be any different.
Here’s a little video of one of Dolly’s roller coasters. This park has everything, rides, shows, crafts, food … and a fantastic Christmas light show during the holiday season every year.
I need to run – this is the day tickets go on sale for our Concert for a Cure, to benefit the Unicoi County Relay Life teams and the American Cancer Society. I have to head on down to get things ready for what we hope will be a steady stream of Randy Houser and Matt Stillwell fans coming into get their tickets and help out this very deserving cause.
I’ll talk to you all real soon!
