I hope I’m not the only one who remembers “I Love This Song,” by Marcel. I still love this song! I don’t think anyone can listen to this song and not want to sing along. So on this beautiful Sunday morning, I thought I’d give you all a chance to Sing Along with Marcel.
I’ve always liked this guy. His new song just came out, it’s called Believin’. The only place I’ve heard it so far is on 99.9 KISS Country in Asheville, N.C. And, you can hear it on his web site, too. It’s a good song.
I’m glad to see Marcel back on the radio, and hope all the country stations will start playing Believin’. Asheville is just over the mountain from me. It’s a great place to go shopping, and a really beautiful drive over the mountains, too.
Marcel’s first CD, You, Me, and the Windshield which included the single “Country Rock Star,” was recorded on Mercury Nashville Records. Later, with Lyric Street Records, he released “I Love This Song.” He has also written singles for Josh Gracin (Nothing to Lose) and Jessica Andrews (There’s More to Me Than You).
He was born in Michigan, and before he started singing, he was a professional hockey player. It’s always interesting to see what our country entertainers did before we knew who they were.
For those of you who live in or near northeast Tennessee, and are planning to come to the Concert for a Cure on May 5, we are also having a silent auction at that event, and one of the things we’ll be auctioning off is an autographed picture of Marcel. (That concert and the auction will be a benefit for our county Relay For Life Teams for the American Cancer Society. For more information about the benefit concert, with Randy Houser and Matt Stillwell, click here.)
I’m going to go enjoy Sunday. Then it’s back to work tomorrow. You guys take care – write when you have time … and have a great Sunday, too!
