I’ve been telling you guys for a while now that we’ve been working on something very exciting… and here it is! Our county Relay For Life teams will have a benefit concert on May 5, 2009, at the Unicoi County High School auditorium. We are very excited to announce that Randy Houser will be our headliner, and opening for him, we have Matt Stillwell.
I am sure everyone knows Randy Houser, as his fantastic debut single was not only a country top 20 on Billboard and Country’s top 40 charts, but was also a top 20 video on CMT and GAC.
Randy has been busy touring the country with Pat Green as part of this year’s Jagermeister Country tour. His second single, “Boots On,” was released to radio a few days ago. It is also from his “Anything Goes” CD. Randy has been keeping all of us up to date with what’s going on in his world through his blog on his MySpace page and his web site.
Here’s one of my favorite Randy Houser clips – It’s his “Anything Goes” performance on David Letterman.
Matt Stilwell’s single, “Shine,” is out on country radio, and the video can be seen on both CMT and GAC. You can check out Matt’s MySpace page, and also his web site to learn more about this great singer.
I saw Matt on Valentine’s Day at Capone’s in Johnson City. He put on a great show. And sang a lot of his original songs, as well as some songs previously done by Alabama, Keith Whitley, and some of or other great country singers.
Unicoi County’s Relay For Life Teams are very grateful Randy and Matt for agreeing to come to Erwin and perform for our first ‘Concert for a Cure.’ We hope to be able to make this event part of our fund raising efforts each year.
Here’s one of Matt’s videos called “Music Video and Album in the Making.” Hope you enjoy this, and finding out just a little more about Matt Stillwell.
Tickets for the May 5 concert go on sale on Saturday morning, March 14, at 9 a.m. at The Erwin Record office, 218 Gay Street, Erwin. For more information, call 423-743-4112.
Again, we can’t thank Randy, Matt, and their management, enough for their help in our fund raising efforts for The American Cancer Society. To say we’re appreciative is very much an understatement. You’ll be hearing more about this between now and concert date. If any of you have any questions, or need more information, please write or call.
I’ll talk to you soon!
