Rascal Flatts are making the rounds promoting their Unstoppable CD, set for release April 7 . They will be on the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards show tonight (8 p.m., CBS), and then the Today Show on April 7. Ellen DeGeneres will get them on April 13, and on April 16, we’ll be able to see them on Late Night with David Letterman.
“Unstoppable” was co-produced by Dann Huff and Rascal Flatts, and is the group’s first studio album since their multi-platinum 2007 album, “Still Feels Good.”.
I got to listen to a short sampling of each song on the CD, and I don’t think there’s a song on there that doesn’t have “Rascal Flatts” written all over it! Every one of their fans will totally enjoy this CD.
The songs are “Love Who You Love,” “Here Comes Goodbye,” “Close,” “Forever,” “She’d Be California,” “Unstoppable,” “Things that Matter,” “Summer Nights,” “Holdin’ On,” “Once,” and “Why”.
I like most of their slow songs best. On this CD, the ones emerging as my favorites are “Why” and “Holdin’ On”. But I really like “Summer Nights,” too. It’s upbeat, and something we’ll probably all find ourselves singing along to when we see this great group in concert. The CD is a nice mix of fast and slow. And, of course, each song has it’s own story to tell.
I spent a little time on the guys’ web site today. They have a lot of shows posted, from June through September. Some of them not all that far from me – Charlotte, N.C. is probably the closest. That one is in August. It will be at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. You can keep up with their complete tour schedule by visiting their site.
Remember to mark Tuesday, April 7, so you can be one of the first to grab your copy of “Unstoppable”. Seems we have a lot of CD’s coming out right now. Jason Aldean’s “Wide Open,” and Billy Ray’s “Back to Tennessee,” will also be out on Tuesday. We’re going to have a lot to put in our shopping carts.
Time for me to run along. I’ll talk to you all soon. Write to me. Let me know what you’ve been up to!
