The Eli Young Band will make their national television debut tonight (Thursday, April 2) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, 12:05 a.m. on ABC. I like these guys a lot. I believe I knew every word to “When It Rains” before I even knew who was singing it! They will be singing their current hit, “Always the Love Songs”, now 15 on the Mediabase chart and 16 on the R&R/Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart.
They will also perform “When It Rains”, the longest running independent single in the history of the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart. The track was featured as the iTunes Discovery Download last week prompting more than 135,000 downloads. And I’m going to try my best to stay awake long enough to see them!
I will get to see them perform live on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at our Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn. They will be the headliners on the main stage that night. I’ll be getting more up about that fair, and others in our area soon.
Between now and August, the guys are keeping very busy – the shows scheduled on their web site through mid-June take them to every part of the U.S. They’re with Alan Jackson at the Star of The Desert Arena in Primm Valley, Nev. on April 3; First United Bank Center, Canyon, Texas, on April 9, then over to San Angelo, Texas on April 10 for a show at Graham’s Central Station. Be sure to check their web page to see when this great group will be somewhere near you.
Even though this isn’t their current song… and just because it is my favorite Eli Young Band song … I just have to put up “When It Rains.”
I have to run. I’ll talk to you all soon. And if you haven’t written for a while, please do … I love hearing about what you’ve been doing, and what’s going on in your area. Later…
