Jack 100% - Copy A few years ago, I got to meet Jack Ingram at our Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn. It was back when people were familiar with the songs, but they didn’t really know who sang them. He didn’t have a huge audience, but the people who were there absolutely fell in love with him.

Jack Jack is one of those entertainers who pours everything he had into his show, and gives everything he has left to his fans. He signed autographs, talked to the fans, posed for pictures, and made sure that everyone who wanted their picture taken with him, or a picture or CD signed got what they wanted.

I liked Jack before I saw him at the fair, and I still like him. I was really glad to see him win Top New Male Vocalist last year. He’s very deserving of that award. If there are any Jack Ingram fans out there who have not had the opportunity to see him perform live, you might want to do that first chance you get. He puts on an awesome show! And you definitely won’t leave disappointed.

But I got a little off track here. I really wanted to write this about Jack’s recent USO tour at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he performed at several military venues. And of course, he took the time to sign autographs and take pictures.

jackingram Jack said the experience gave him a better understanding of what the members of the military give up to serve our country, not for politics, but for the faith in what America stands for. He played to a crowd of 300 civilian and military fans in an officer’s club known as the Goat Locker.

Ingram said of his experience, "It’s amazing to see the young people with the courage of their convictions, who are all over world doing these jobs that make such a difference for freedom in our world. It was certainly fun to play for them — it’s always fun, especially with audiences like those — but this was a special kind of honor, too."

Jack’s new single, “Barefoot and Crazy” is available on iTunes this week, and he has just joined the line up for the CMA Music Fest in Nashville in June!

Here’s one of my favorite Jack Ingram songs, “Lips of an Angel.” I really hope Jack gets back to this area sometime soon. It would be good to see him again. Check out his web site so you can keep up with his schedule, too!

I hope you all have a great Sunday. Write when you have a chance. And, remember to enter the contest for a chance to win Rascal Flatts new CD, “Unstoppable.”
Later!
