Working on Monday, May 4? Set your VCR, DVD, or Tivo, or whatever those new things are, and get ready for Jason Aldean on the Bonnie Hunt Show. Jason will be singing “She’s Country,” from his new album, “Wide Open.” I need to thank Nicole for sending me this information. I love Jason, and I know I’m not the only one.
I got to see this great performer exactly one year ago today when he did a show at Viking Hall in Bristol, Tenn. Any of you who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing him in concert will really want to do that sometime soon.
Jason will be hosting his annual Jason Aldean: Concert For The Cure, during CMA Music Festival (June 11-14) in Nashville this June. The concert is to benefit Susan G. Koemen, and will be held on Friday, June 12. The concert will include a silent auction, with items from country stars. Luke Bryan, who is a Georgia-native, like Jason, is the first performer to be added to the lineup.
Breast cancer touched Jason personally when a close family friend passed away from it at age 26. Since then, he has been committed to lending his celebrity in the search for a cure. “I know a lot of fans heard my friend Melissa’s story in the album special that GAC did,” Jason said. “That two-minute clip barely touched on how passionate I am about this. I promise to make it the most rocking late night gig in downtown Nashville that night, and I hope people will come out to support this cause and help me remember Melissa.” The show will start after Jason’s stadium performance.
Tickets to Jason’s fund raiser are $15 to $100, and are available to fan club members now, and to the general public beginning Sunday, May 2, by going to his web site or ticketmaster.
For those of you in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina – remember that our local Concert For A Cure with Randy Houser, and opening act Matt Stillwell, will be held on Tuesday night, May 5.
Tickets are still available. The cost is $25 for reserved seating, and $12.50 for general admission tickets. There are still good seats available, and in addition to ordering by telephone, they will be sold at the door the night of the show.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and Matt will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Randy’s show will begin at 8 p.m. If you need more information, call 423-743-4112.
You’ll be seeing him live on Bonnie Hunt on Monday, but here he is on video on Counry’s Chatter. It’s “She’s Country.”
I’ll talk to you all soon. Hope you have a great Saturday. I’m going to the office. I have entirely too much to do to stay home and worry about it. Drop me an e-mail when you have time.
