Montgomery_Gentry_-_CMA_Music_Fest_Fan_Fair_2004_-_lg_6355316 I’ve seen Montgomery Gentry twice. Once was at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn., and believe me, the reserved seats were sold out, the bleachers were full, and I don’t think the rest of the audience could find their own blade of grass to stand on. It was a great show.

The second time I got to see them, they opened for Toby Keith in Knoxville. And they didn’t disappoint their fans there either.

MG new Now, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. I love the way someone famous always comes on stage to invite new Opry inductees. John Conlee did it with Craig Morgan when he was performing at an Fort Bragg, NC. And now, Charlie Daniels walked onto stage this past Tuesday night with the invitation to Montgomery Gentry to join the world’s longest running radio program.

Eddie and Troy will be officially inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry on June 23.

Here’s a look back at when Craig Morgan got his invitation. If you go to YouTube and put in anything about “invitation to join opry” … you get a whole bunch of results.

I’m not going to put up concert dates today, but I hope you will go to their web sites and see if Eddie, Troy or Craig are coming anywhere near your city. I know you won’t want to miss these shows.

I’ll talk to you all soon. It’s Friday! Hope you have a good one… and definitely make plans to enjoy your weekend.
