header2 I’m still waiting for official word from the folks at the Appalachian Fair about their 2009 entertainment schedule. I got an e-mail from them a while back that said nothing is confirmed yet, and as soon as it is I’ll be the first to know. (Yep, that’s what they told me).

homefooter But while I’m waiting, I’ve been doing a little surfing online, and I found out that Pollstar has Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday entertainment listed, and the artist I had heard was scheduled for Friday has it up on their web site, so that looks pretty official to me. The only one I don’t know about is Saturday … but I’ll share what I’ve heard for that night.

Here’s your entertainment for 2009. I’m still going to call this a tentative list, just because I didn’t get it from the folks at the fair yet, but I’m hoping it won’t change…cause I like it just the way it is.

Randy Houser Press Photo So to all my Fair Friends, who I know I’ll be seeing every night during the this year’s fair, here’s the list. (Still ‘tentative’ … but a little more definite now).

Tuesday, Aug. 25, Eli Young Band
Wednesday, Aug. 26, Jimmy Wayne
Thursday, Aug. 27, The Lost Trailers
Friday, Aug. 28, Lady Antebellum

I hope you will all go to and visit these entertainers’ web pages. Unless you live in the Southwestern part of the U.S., I would imagine the only one you aren’t real familiar with is Nick Nicholson. But I think you’re really going to like him. I hope you will listen to some of his music on his web site, and go back through the archives of Country’s Chatter … I’ve had him up here quite a few times before. Nick is a Gray, Tenn., native – now residing in Arizona. He recently released his first single called “Somethin’ Somethin’.” And if you can’t place Jimmy Fortune, that’s because you just aren’t used to seeing him alone – Jimmy is a former Statler Brother.

And, I hope those of you here in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia are keeping something else in mind – that’s the free Thursday night concerts in Kingsport, and the shows at Steele Creek Park in Bristol. Jack Ingram will be doing the Kingsport show on Aug. 20. That’s going to be great. And, I have heard that Jason Michael Carroll will be doing one in July at Steele Creek, but I don’t have any kind of confirmation at all on that one. I’ll let you all know more as soon as I know. and, we have Matt Stillwell coming to Capone’s in Johnson City on July 3, and Eric Church at the Electric Cowboy, also in Johnson ,on July 15. Of course, we have other fairs coming up in July, August and September, so I’ll get those up for you soon, too.

And a little bit of The Lost Trailers music before I head out. This is really a good song. I’m anxious to see these guys at the fair this year. This will be the first time I’ve ever been to one of their shows.

I better run for now. I hope you all have a great Sunday! Talk to you real soon.
