GretchenW Gretchen Wilson is scheduled to open up this year’s CMA Music Festival with a performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11. This will be the first of many concerts, shows, performances, and autograph sessions held during the four-day Nashville event. The Festival will conclude on Sunday, June 14.

GWilson2 When people think of Gretchen, the first song that comes to mind is no doubt “Redneck Woman”. But there’s a lot more to this entertainer than one song. Gretchen has won two CMA awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year in 2005.

She is scheduled to release her first studio album on Sony Nashville later this year. In addition to “Redneck Woman,” which I really think people remember her for most, she’s also had “When I Think About Cheatin’",” “Here for the Party,” and “California Girls.”

The 10 a.m.  kick off show will be held at Riverfront Park, and is a free concert. Fans with four-day Music Fest tickets will have exclusive early entrance privileges. And I’m sure that viewing area is going to fill up fast! I really like that little Park – right across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe’ at the end of Broadway. It’s one of the places I enjoy going just to sit and watch boats (and people), whenever I get the chance to visit Nashville.

Lvoe and theft Other artists recently added to Riverfront Park include John Michael Montgomery and Craig Morgan, and Love and Theft. I’m sure you are all more than familiar with John Michael and Craig, but for those of you who don’t know Love and Theft, they are a country band made up of Stephen Barker Liles, Brian Bandas and Eric Gunderson. All three members were born in 1984 and met each other through mutual friends in Nashville. The group is with Lyric Street Records, and has opened several shows for Taylor Swift. Their first single, “Runaway,” was released in March 2009. You can head on over to their MySpace page to learn more about this new group.

GWilson Two-time CMA Award winner Gretchen Wilson will give one of her trademark energetic performances at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, to kick off this year’s CMA Music Festival in Nashville.
