There’s a lot going on with our country music entertainers right now. We’ve got a wedding, a few new babies, several new CDs in the works, and even a $38 million house for sale … let’s see what else we can find. Oh yes … and the Kellie/Kid thing.
Let’s start with that one … On June 28, I told you all about the rumor that Kellie Pickler and Kid Rock are dating. The only way you could have missed that story is if you had been visiting another planet that day. It was everywhere. Newspapers, FOX news, country music blogs… literally all over the Internet. It was like I said when I told you about it – it was a rumor. That was all it was. I’m very happy to report that Country Music Tattle Tale has said that Kellie’s publicist is putting an end to all those rumors with the statement, “there is no truth to the story.” I know I’m not the only one glad to hear that. Although no one said this – I’m pretty sure Kellie and Kyle are still an item.
Here’s a little baby news – Josh and Jennifer Turner are now the parents of two sons. Their second, Colby Lynch Turner was born on Friday, June 26. “I’m just a proud daddy right now,” says Turner. “Jennifer gave birth to another healthy baby boy. Hampton loves being a big brother and we’re just one big happy family.”
Kassidy, lead singer for the group SHeDaisy, got married recently. The announcement was made by the groups publicist in a press release. She and longtime boyfriend, Derek Williamson, were married at the LDS Temple in San Diego. Kassidy said “For being one of the most important days in my life, it couldn’t have been more perfect and beautiful.” (You might remember that that Kassidy dated Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts – that two year relationship ended in 2003.) The girls will soon be releasing their fifth album, “A Story to Tell,” on Lyric Street Records.
Also married recently were Charles Kelley, from Lady Antebellum, and his girlfriend, Cassie McConnell. They got married in Nashville in a quiet ceremony, but Lady Antebellum’s publicist said the couple will have a larger destination wedding ceremony in a few weeks. Charles and Cassie had been dating for more than two years, when he asked her to marry him this past Christmas.
Another new baby – this one to Stokes Nielson, vocals and guitarist for The Lost Trailers, who are scheduled to appear at our Appalachian Fair in August, is also a new dad. He and his wife Maria welcomed a 7 pound 7 ounce baby boy on Monday, June 22. He is the couple’s second child – with a big sister waiting for her baby brother at home.
Now, that $38 million house that’s for sale… it is in Franklin, Tenn., and it’s huge. The house is 19,000 sq. ft., has six bedrooms, 3 ponds, a 20 car garage, barn with two-bedroom apartment, airplane landing strip, lake with boat house … and as you might expect – a whole lot more. You can check out all the rooms of the house by clicking here. It’s beautiful. I believe I’ve seen hotels smaller than that house. Oh … the owners? That would be Alan and Denise Jackson.
And, lastly – Tim McGraw has a new song that was released to radio today. The song is called “It’s A Business Doing Pleasure With You,” and is from his upcoming album. The song was co-written by Brent James, Joe Kelly and Chad Kroeger. Chad is lead singer for Nickleback, and Brent co-wrote “Jesus Take The Wheel,” that Carrie Underwood turned into a major hit. I feel like it’s been a long time since we had something new from Tim. So it’s good to have him back. I noticed on his schedule on his web site that he’s doing the Great Allentown Fair in Allentown, Pa., on Sept. 4. They have been getting some huge country music artists at that fair. It’s about time to start watching fair schedules a little more closely too – can’t wait till the last minute to make those summer plans.
I better go for now. I’ll talk to you all real soon. I know I didn’t get to everyone’s e-mail last night, but I’ll do my best to finish you all up this evening. Have a great Wednesday!
