LA1 - Copy LadyAConcert 008 Lady Antebellum, who will be at our Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn., on Friday, Aug. 28, , is about to have their first No. 1 record. When the Billboard country chart is out this week, “Run To You”, will be in the top spot. I love these guys, and if I could have done it all by myself, they would have had two number one records before this one. I think “Love Don’t Live Here” and “Looking for a Good Time” were both worthy of being No. 1.

The group did a little twittering about it on Sunday. "This is absolutely surreal," said Lady A’s Dave Haywood from Boise today. "A number one is something you never think will actually happen, and it is certainly something that we will never forget. We are so overwhelmed from the support of the fans and country radio, and we want to give a special shout out to Tom Douglas for pushing us as songwriters and challenging us to put these beautiful lyrics into a song."

LadyA new ladya 111 Dierk Bentley was in that No. 1 position with “Sideways,” but that is all about to change. “I Run to You” was written by all three members of the group, Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, along with songwriter Tom Douglas.

I saw these three open for Jason Aldean on May 2, 2008, at Viking Hall in Bristol. They put on a great show, so I’m really looking forward to their show in August. Fairs are great places to see your favorites. The show is included with your gate admission (at most fairs), and if you’d like, you can get in the reserved seating for a very minimal charge.

Lady Antebellum is the reigning ACM Best New Vocal Group and CMA’s New Artist of the Year. They also had three Grammy nominations and three CMT Award nominations. They are currently on the road with Kenny Chesney, and are scheduled to join Keith Urban for their first Canadian tour in the fall.

Here’s a little interview with Hillary that was done in Birmingham, Ala. I have no idea when. But I thought I’d get it up for you guys anyway.

I better get my day started. I’ll talk to you all soon. If you haven’t written to me, now’s a great time – because I’m going to answer more mail tonight!
Later guys!
