It was an event open to the entire county, to thank everyone for their support and prayers during Nick Rogers’ cancer treatments. After a very lengthy battle with the disease, Nick’s doctors say he is cancer free. Certainly a reason for a celebration. At this event, we were entertained by a very talented group of young people, from Blountville, Tenn., J4. Pictured with Nick (center), are J4 members Jessi, Josephine, Josiah, and Jedidiah. Nick is a student at Unicoi County High School in Erwin.
I think a lot of people across the country watched the Family Singing Face Off on the CBS Morning Show early this spring. In fact, I’m sure they did. Because they voted for this very talented group. On April 1, J4 was announced as the winners of the singing competition. (Click “Read the rest of this entry” below for more of the article and photos)
The group has just finished recording two songs with Tom Polce, producer at CBS Records. The songs will be released digitally sometime later this summer, although an exact release date has not been announced. One of the songs will be “I Think I Love You,” made famous by the Partridge Family, and one they sang on the CBS Morning Show.
I watched these kids on stage at our local event, and realized they could probably play and sing anything. They have fantastic harmony, and real instrumental talent. Jessi, plays violin as her primary instrument, but also plays lead and bass guitar. Jedidiah plays keyboard and drums. He is also the primary music arranger for the group, and also enjoys songwriting. Josuha plays violin, lead and bass guitar. And, Josephine, the youngest member of the group, plays keyboard. The kids range in age from 7-15.
I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of this very talented group of young people. They got their start on national television, have recorded in Nashville, been recognized by local, state and federal dignitaries… and most importantly, they seem to love what they’re doing. Here are a few more pictures from this evenings event in Unicoi. I hope you will all go visit their web site and learn more about this really talented group.
And of course, we have to put up a video of this very talented group of kids …. Here’s J4, from the CBS Morning Show, with “I Think I Love You.”
That’s it for today. You guys have a great Tuesday! Talk to you soon. And those of you I owe an e-mail to, I will do my best to get those answered tonight. I have a bunch of them, but I love it! So keep writing!
