Kellie took some time to do a short show, singing for the crew while the furniture was being moved into the new house. She sang “Gotta Keep Moving,” “Best Days of Your Life” and “Red High Heels.” She also talk to the crowd and autographed hard hats.
“This is the most incredible thing I’ve ever been a part of,” Pickler said to the audience. “I can’t wait to see their faces when they get home.”
Pickler complimented volunteers and praised them for their hard work and dedication. “I can’t believe it’s all finished,” she said as she stood on stage in front of the house. “It looks like it was air-lifted in.” (Dayton Daily News)
Kellie also recently broke an attendance record at a fair in Minnesota. That actually doesn’t surprise me. I saw Kellie at the Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va. last year, and she did the same thing there. I remember writing about her show at our fair nearly a year ago. I wrote that she surprised me – and she really did. It was the first time I’d seen her perform live, and I definitely got more of a show than I was expecting. She’s really gotten good since her American Idol days.
I don’t know what size seating area they have at the fair in Minnesota, but Kellie’s blog says that the gates had to be closed early because more than 10,000 fans showed up to see her show. That sounds like a huge fair crowd to me.
It was recently announced that Kellie’s next single will be “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.” Not sure what the release date is for that one, but I know all of Kellie’s fans are looking forward to the release.
What else is she up to? She will be part of the CMA Songwriters Series in Los Angeles on Sept. 15. And if any of you are in Detroit Lakes, Mn., you can catch her at We Fest tonight. She will be at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb., tomorrow night, and then headed off to Seneca Niagra Casino and Hotel in Niagara Falls, N.Y., for a show on Aug. 13.
She has shows up on her web site into November, and a lot of them still have the “Win Tickets” icon behind them, so remember to click on that and try your luck at getting in to see Kellie for free! I’m hoping we get her back in this area sometime soon, as I’d love to see her show again.
That will do it for this morning. I’ll talk to you all real soon!
