It wasn’t long before the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, just two months ago, that I first heart of Love and Theft. I liked them from the first time I heard them. But I had no idea they would get as far as they have so quickly. (Photos from Love and Theft MySpace page)
Their first single is making its way to the top of the country music charts, and is already in the No. 20 spot. Brian Bandas, Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson formed their group in 2006, and were part of Taylor Swift’s tour in 2008.
The guys will be releasing their debut album, “World Wide Open,” tomorrow, Aug. 25. There are 11 songs on the CD.” World Wide Open”, “Runaway”, “Dancing in Circles”, “It’s Up To You”, “You To Miss”, “Can’t go Back”, “Don’t Wake Me”, “Freedom”, “Slow Down”, “Me Without You”, and “Drowning”.
I’m not sure where the guys are going to be on CD release day. But they don’t have a show scheduled for that day. They will be in Dallas, Texas on Aug. 27, for KSCS – Glass Cactus; On Aug. 28, in Phoenix, Ariz., at KNIX sponsored listener show; and Aug. 29, for Las Vegas, Nev., at Orleans Arena; and on Sept. 2, he will be at Cotton-Eyed Joes in Knoxville. That’s not that far from me … I might be able to make it to Knoxville! They are also heading to Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Alabama, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri and Washington, D.C. and Florida, between now and Oct. 31. So there are a lot of opportunities to see this great new group.
I’m sure ever one who pays attention to music videos has already seen the video for “Ruaway”, but here it is for you again. This really is a good song, good group, good video … and even if you already have seen it, you’ll want to watch again!
That’s all for this morning. Tonight is the first night of the Appalachian Fair! I’ll try my best to get something up here every night when I get home. And to everyone in the area … I’ll see you at the Fair!
