I’ve seen Trent Tomlinson in concert – twice, and I like his music. My favorite song was the one I remember as being his first, “One Wing in the Fire.” But I also like “Just Might Have Her Radio on,” I often find myself singing “That’s How it Still Oughta Be,” and I think “Henry Cartwright’s Produce Stand” is a great song!
Trent puts on a fantastic show. I think he was the first entertainer I ever saw take of shirt during his show, and he was the first one I saw jump off the stage and run through his audience… both the reserved seating area and the bleacher seats.
He seemed to like getting close to his audience, and as most of you know – that’s one thing I really like about our entertainers. I like the ones who look out in the crowd and seem to remember when they were out there, too. These are the entertainers who are there to put on a show for all of us. A show they can be proud of, and a show they know we will enjoy.
Having said all that, Trent was in Johnson City on Thursday night (Sept. 24). He did a show at our Electric Cowboy. And, I didn’t get there. But it’s ok. I have his CD (Country is my Rock), and I can watch his videos both on his web site and on YouTube … and I had a friend at the show last Thursday, so we have pictures!
EC has been getting some great country entertainers here lately. We had Eric Church, Justin Moore and now Trent. And Capone’s in Johnson City, who has had Matt Stillwell on several occasions, also had Jonathan Singleton this past Friday night. I like that we don’t have to go too far from home to see our favorite country artists.
According to Brittany, Trent still puts on a great show! Sorry I missed it, but I’m learning that as much as I would like to – I just can’t go to everything. Brittany took all the pictures you see here at the show on Thursday night.
There are a few dates up on Trent’s tour schedule, so if you are anywhere near Columbia, Md., tonight - you can see Trent at Merriweather Post Pavilion; on Oct. 1, he will be in Lakeland, Fla., at Boots N Buckles Saloon; and on Oct. 2, he heads on over to WGNE Radio Show in Jacksonville, Fla. Then on Oct. 17, he will be at Hawg Lakes Bike Rally in Tecumseh, Okla. You need to keep an eye on his web site, because he updates that schedule often.
Here’s a little Trent for you – Kind of makes me wish I had gone on Thursday. No, I wished that even before I looked at this video again. Maybe next time, Trent!
Time to get on with my Sunday. I hope all of you have a very good Sunday. I’m hoping to use a little of today to answer more mail. I got pretty well caught up with it a few days ago, but you guys are great about writing, and I love hearing from you – so I’ll do my best to do my part and get you all answered this afternoon.
I’ll talk to you all real soon!
