Yesterday I told you all about Toby Keith’s new CD, “American Ride,” that will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 6. (And remember, we’re having a contest to win that one! Just go to the Sept. 30 post to get your entry in.)
Today, we have another CD to tell you about. This one will also be released on Oct. 6, and is Luke Bryan’s new one, called “Doin’ My Thing.” I really like Luke’s music. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at the Haywood County Fair last year in North Carolina. That was a great show. And I’m really looking forward to this new CD.
Luke will be kicking off a tour to promote the new CD on Monday, Oct. 5, in Statesboro, Ga. He’ll be at the Hurricane Plantation, and GAC TOP 20 will be there, too. On Oct. 6, he will be at the Lee County High School Football Field in Leesburg, and on Oct. 7, he’ll be at Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte, N.C.
Greenville, S.C. will get to see him on Oct. 8 at Blind Horse, and on Oct. 9, he’ll be at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, Fla. From Tampa it’s back up to Atlanta on Oct. 10, for a show at Wild Bills, then over to Augusta, Ga., on Oct. 12, where he will be at the Country Club, and on the 13th he heads north to Chicago, Ill., at Joe’s Bar. He will finish up what has to be an exhausting 10 days with a show in Minneapolis, Minn., on Oct. 14, that one at Fine Line.
I sure hope this kid sleeps good on a bus, because he’s going to be spending a lot of time there. That’s nine shows in 10 days, and he won’t be slowing down much when that’s done either. On Oct. 30, he will begin his first headling tour, “Doin’ My Thing Tour,” in Jacksonville, Fla., with shows continuing through Dec. 5.
An article on Luke’s FaceBook, and had this to say, “Every performer dreams of the day you can take your own tour on the road,” says Bryan. “We just enjoy being out there, getting to know the fans and really working hard to make them have a good time.”
Going to answer mail this evening. I should be able to get them all done, so if I owe you an e-mail, you should get it before the night is over! I’ll talk to you all very soon. Hope you have a great day. Be sure to check out Luke’s web site.
