Shine CD Brant CD This morning I got an e-mail from Charity K., of Commerce Ga. Charity sent her name and address to become the second winner of the two CD’s from the contest that ended on Nov. 15.

Congratulations Charity! Hopefully I’ll get a response from the third winner by the time I get back form my trip on The Santa Train. If any of you are still not familiar with The Santa Train, I hope you will read my Nov. 10 post about this wonderful event. You can read that article by clicking here.

I know my trip on The Santa Train is going to be one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I get to be part of the many volunteers who board the train each year to distribute tons of toys and candy to children living in the poorest regions of this country. We’ll travel through the coal regions of Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee, and cover 110-miles of CSX tracks, distributing the holiday gifts at 15 different stops along the rail lines.

csx_santa_train_logo Of course the train will be packed full of photographers, reporters, and television crews. I noticed on the schedule that GAC and FOX will be among the television stations covering the event, I’m glad so many people want to be a part of this, and want to let the rest of the world know about The Santa Train here in Appalachia.

newwyxmas (3) Those of you have read my previous articles about The Santa Train, know that this year, Wynonna will be the special guest on the train. I’m always so impressed to see our country artists volunteering so much of their time to help others.

I really need to finish packing, make sure I have absolutely everything I plan on taking, and get to Kingsport to meet up with everyone heading to The Santa Train. I’ll talk to you all as soon as I can! You enjoy your weekend. Write when you have a chance, and remember – Country’s Chatter is on Twitter and Facebook, too!

Talk to you all soon,
Country
