I absolutely love Jake Owen. That’s not the first time I’ve said that, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. The several times I have seen Jake do a show, he was just fantastic. He has so much personality, and it is so very obvious that he loves every minute he spends on stage. He really knows how to play to his audience and has that ability to make everyone in the audience believe that they are the reason he is there. Jake is easy to talk to, and always seems willing to spend that extra five or 10 minutes to talk to a fan.
However, I’m pretty sure I would annoy Jake if he were following me in his car. Especially if it were on an Interstate, where I generally drive around 50 miles per hour. Partly this is because I know that I will get 25 percent more miles out of my tank of gas at 50 than I would at 65 miles per hour, and partly it’s cause I’m old.
Jake lives in Nashville, and The Boot tells us that Jake knows Nashville traffic can be brutal. But he also knows when to take a break from it. According to the report on The Boot, Jake got out of the Christmas-induced congestion, and into a Walgreen’s Pharmacy at the invitation from a store employee (and Jake fan), Amy Barton, who was working there.
Jake had been traveling down Hillsboro Road toward the Mall at Green Hills, which is one of Nashville’s “most notoriously clogged traffic spots,” on Friday afternoon, when he let a little steam off to his Twitter followers that said “I could walk faster than this. Merry Christmas.”
So Jake, if you are ever driving in Northeast Tennessee, and you get behind a very slow, little old lady, in a blue Dodge mini-van … get ready to visit the closest Walgreen’s Pharmacy, because it’s probably me … and I seriously doubt I will be speeding up any. But remember, if you are going to pull off into a Walgreen’s to get away from me … send me a “tweet’ first! And Jake, Merry Christmas!
It’s Christmas Eve. You have just a few hours left to finish your holiday shopping. As for me, the shopping is done – but the wrapping still isn’t. So I had better get busy with that. Have a wonderful Christmas! I’ll talk to you all real soon.
