Rascal flatts We’ve been hearing about Rascal Flatt’s  upcoming role on CSI quite a bit lately. But so far, we aren’t hearing a lot about the script or the plot, or what the guys will actually be doing. It seems we can look forward to at leas a little bit of music though.

Most of the press I’ve read about it says they will have a cameo in a 2010 episode. Cameo doesn’t usually mean ‘big role’, so I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see how all this plays out.

73867475BM016_2007_CMT_Musi All I’ve heard so far is that they will play themselves, and that one of them will become the victim of a crime with the bandmates being suspects. Doesn’t “victim” usually mean dead when we’re talking about CSI? Since they are playing themselves, and not some fictitious country music trio, I can’t imagine they are going to kill off Gary, Jay or Joe Don. So again, this might just be a wait and see kind of show.

One report had this to say: In “Unshockable,” which exec producer Carol Mendelsohn points out is “a riff off [the group’s] hit album, tour and song… [they’ll] be playing themselves. One of the guys — and tear out my fingernails, but I won’t say who — will become the victim of a crime. The other two ‘Rascals’ will be suspects… thus, jeopardizing the future of the band.”

taylorcsi2 I have always been a fan of CSI and I think Taylor Swift did a great job on that show last season. She was a real victim. And she wanted to be. She had said in more than one interview that she always wanted to be a dead body on CSI, and she got what she wanted.

CSI Logo Here’s what Rascal Flatts web site had to say about CSI – But, except to say that they will be making an appearance,  it didn’t really say anything about their upcoming episode:

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is a fast-paced drama about a team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes by examining the evidence. They are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the irrefutable evidence and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery. Catherine Willows, a hard-working single parent with a checkered past and a teenage daughter she’s raising on her own, heads the team of investigators at the Crime Lab in Las Vegas, following previous leader Gil Grissom’s departure. The team’s other members include Dr. Raymond Langston, a former pathologist who joins the Las Vegas Crime Lab after consulting on a serial killer case; Nick Stokes, a true-blue stand-up guy who empathizes with victims via his own experiences; and Greg Sanders, the off-beat tech analyst turned field investigator. The CSI team members also work closely with Capt. Jim Brass, the former chief, now assigned to Homicide; Dr. Albert Robbins, the ever-professional medical examiner and his assistant, David Phillips; and David Hodges and Wendy Simms, lab technicians with specialties in trace and foreign-substance analysis. CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

With Christmas right around the corner, I wanted to put up a video that I’ve used before – but it’s one of my favorite Rascal Flatts videos. It’s their acapella version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” If there is anyone out there who doesn’t think these guys can sing, just listen to this! They’re great!

I have a few emails to get answered. I will talk to you all real soon!
