It’s going to take me a little while, but I am definitely going to get an article up here about each of the 10 talented artists who took the stage at the first-ever Country Music is Love show to benefit the City of Hope.
This morning, it will be Whitney Duncan. We all know Whitney because of her great hit this past summer … Now don’t sit there and try to pretend that you don’t remember “Skinny Dippin’.” If you’re anything like me, it is one of those songs that you found yourself singing all summer long.
After seeing her on stage, meeting her, and getting to spend a little time talking to her, I quickly understood why Whitney was named one of Country Music’s 10 Most Beautiful Ladies by Country Weekly Magazine. (article here) She’s definitely a beautiful person – on the inside as well as the outside.
Whitney has a great little “Get to know me…The Basics” up on her web site. After reading this, you’ll probably know more about Whitney than you do any other artist out there. And by the way, Whit … My favorite color is blue, too!
She has a few dates listed on her Event page, including Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Country Concert at Hickory Hills Lakes, in Fort Loramie, Ohio. This is a 3 day concert with some of the biggest names in the business performing. Brooks and Dunn have included this stop in their last year of touring together, and Keith Urban will be taking the stage on Saturday night, July 10. So Whitney will certainly be in good company at this music festival.
She will be with one of my very favorite entertainers in Gleason, Wisc., on Aug. 13. That will be an event called Fuddfest, and the artist I was talking about is Phil Vassar. I hope you will all keep an eye on Whitney’s web site to find out where else she will be, and what’s going on in her career. Whitney puts on a great show. She’s full of energy, fun to watch, and very talented. It was definitely a joy to be a part of that audience.
Time to get a few more pictures up here from Whitney’s set at the Rutledge. If any of you see yourself in these photos, let me know who you are! I met a lot of people at this show, and gave out a lot of business cards, but I’m sure I didn’t get to meet all of you – so drop me a line and point yourself out to me!
Now… more photos from Tuesday night. Sorry some of them are a little dark, but I’m afraid most stage lights were not put there to help amateur photographers get the best shots. I hope these will all work ok.
I have to head to work. I’ll get more up real soon! Thanks again, Whitney, for a great show, and for being the very nice person that you are. I’ll see you on Twitter!
