The night was all about the New Orleans Saints, but it was Carrie Underwood who got this year’s Super Bowl off to an amazing start. She never looks anything less than awesome, and when you add that to her amazing vocals, you end up with probably one of the best National Anthem performances the Super Bowl has seen in its 44 year history.
Carrie has done just about everything since her win on American Idol. In addition to recording, videos, television talk shows and specials, an upcoming sitcom debut on “How I Met Your Mother,” will make her film debut in the upcoming motion picture “Soul Surfer,” and countless other adventures, she will now be entertaining children, as she takes on the roll of Carrie Underworm on Sesame Street.
I almost hate to follow that brilliant National Anthem with the little worm song, but it really is cute. And let me warn you, after you hear it, you just might spend the rest of your day walking around the house going, “I’m just as pleased as punch to be a worm!”
Underworm‘s episode will air on Thursday, Feb. 11, on PBS, and the worm will also make an appearance in shows on March 17, April 8, and April 26.
I’m getting ready to head out to Nashville to attend the City of Hope’s first benefit at The Rutledge. I’ll try to get something up late Wednesday night when I get back from the event. Thanks for all of your mail, write whenever you have a minute – I just love hearing from each of you. I hope you guys have a great Tuesday, and please Nashville, no more snow, I’m on my way down!
