It looks like August is going to be a busy month for country artists welcoming home their new arrivals. A few days ago, James and Amy Otto announced to People Magazine that they were expecting their first child in August, and today we found out that Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline, will be getting a little brother or sister for their nearly two-year-old son, Bo. Their new baby is also due in August.
Like James, Luke is also excited about the new arrival late this summer, and told People magazine: "We’re excited to have another little member of the family coming in," Luke tells PEOPLE magazine. "When you successfully brought one in the world, you are a little more confident in your ability to do it the second time. We’re a little more relaxed."
Luke and Caroline do plan on finding out ahead of time if it’s going to be a girl or a boy. That really wasn’t an option when I have my kids. Ultrasounds and Sonograms were only done to make sure everything was ok in there, and not to check and see whether we were having a boy or a girl. I think back on that now, and I wonder if I would have wanted to know. But I’ll be curious about Luke and Caroline, and hope they will let all of us know as soon as they know.
Luke sure has a lot of summer shows up on his schedule already. Including Aug. 3, Montana State Fair, Great Falls, Mont.; Aug. 6, Sublette County Fair, Big PIney, Wyo.; Aug. 7, Logan County Fair, Sterling, Colo.; Aug. 14, Clarke County Fair, Berryville, Va.; Aug. 22, Gennessee County Fair, Mount Morris, Mich.; Aug. 25, Western Idaho Fairgrounds, Boise, Idaho; and Aug. 26, Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton, Wash.; and Aug. 28, Benton Franklin County Fair, Kennewick, Wash. Wow, Luke … I hope you and Caroline can come up with a date when you can be home for the new baby in August.
Luke has an lot up on his schedule between now and August, too. I know you will want to keep up with that and find out when he’s going to be somewhere near you. I love this kid. Got to see him several times over the years, and he always puts on a great show.
I really love “Do I,” and apparently a lot of other people do, too – with it reaching the No. 1 spot a short time ago. The song was written, co-written actually, by Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum. You can read a story about that song by clicking here.
Have a great Friday! Very busy weekend planned here. Talk to you guys soon,
