I’ve always liked Mindy McCready, and “Ten Thousand Angels” is still one of my favorite songs of all time. It really is – love that little song. So, as you might expect, I was very glad to hear that Mindy has a new album coming out on March 23, 2010.
The CD is appropriately titled “I’m Still Here.” It couldn’t have a better name, since we all are aware of the all the drama that has gone on in Mindy’s life over the past decade or so. She’s one of those entertainers that I want to look at, with my hands on my hips, and say, “Mindy, what are you doing!” (That’s the mom coming out in me, I think.)
Oddly enough, I haven’t been to Mindy’s web site before, so when I went yesterday, after listening to the music, I checked out the areas called News and Bio. Her bio, as you might expect, is very interesting. There aren’t any tour dates up on her web site at this point, but I’m really sure that won’t be too far away.
The songs on the new CD are:
1. Wrong Again
2. By Her Side
3. I Want A Man
4. I’m Still Here
5. I Want To Love You
6. Songs About You
7. The Way You Make Me Melt
8. The Dance
9. I Hate That I Love You
11. By Her Side (Acoustic version)
Bonus Tracks – Newly Updated Versions of:
12. Guys Do It All The Time
13. Ten Thousand Angels
I went to her web site, and listened to some of the songs she has there. I really love how she did Garth’s “The Dance.” And of course I’m glad to see that she included an updated version of “Ten Thousand Angels” as a bonus track.
“We have always been confident in Mindy’s talent,”Mindy’s record label head, Michael Fancher, says. “This album shows she’s at the top of her game musically; she’s the best she’s ever sounded and we look forward to reintroducing her music to fans new and old.”
It’s been a long time, and I hope all of Mindy’s fans are as ready for her new album as I am.
