Trace2 KSLA television in Louisiana reported today that Trace Adkins tour bus was involved in a fatal accident this morning, when a pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed head on into the bus. Trace was not on board, but his band was.

Both of the men in the pickup truck were killed on impact. None of Trace’s band members were seriously injured, but five were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries, and for observation.

Trace1 Trace did arrive at the scene of the accident after he heard the news. He picked up the band members who were not injured, and they traveled to the hospital to check on the others.

Trace would not comment on the accident, except to give the following statement: “This is a real tragedy,” says Adkins. “Two people have been killed and I don’t even know their names. So out of respect for their families, I prefer not to comment too much at this time.”

It was about a year ago that Tracy Lawrence, his band members and his manager were involved in a bus accident while driving to Nashville after a show in Jackpot, Nev. I put up an article about that accident, and about other tour bus accidents over the years. If you missed that article, you can read it here.

Trace, Martina and Sarah Buxton did go on stage tonight as planned.

Here’s the television report of the crash.
