Fortune Nicholson Saturday 240 What a difference two years makes. Back on March 31, 2008, I put up an article called “Introducing Nick Nicholson.” That article was not just to introduce all of you guys to Nick, it was really my first meeting with him, too. That day, I visited his web site, listened to his music, and have kept up with his career ever since.

In August, 2009, I had an opportunity to see Nick do a show live show. What I saw was a polished performer, who could not only sing, but knew his way around a stage the way most of us know our way around our own home. He was having fun, and the audience was having fun. I left that night with not enough words in my vocabulary to give his show the kind of review I felt it deserved. But I definitely tried. And I have been raving about him every since.

Fortune Nicholson Saturday 082 That review came with a lot of pictures, was posted here on Aug. 30, 2009, and was titled “Hey, Nashville! Take a look at Nick Nicholson!” And, it seems Nashville did indeed take a look at Nick Nicholson! (You can read my review from Nick’s August 2009 show here.)

Today, nearly two years after my initial article, I am very happy to say, I received a press release from Nashville! Here’s what the press release had to say:

Nashville TN– PCL Music announced today that Singer/Songwriter Nick Nicholson will release his new single "Stronger Than Whiskey", nationwide to country radio in mid-April. This single has already been noted by major radio stations across the country as being "One of the most powerful country singles to be released to radio in a very long time" Penned by two great songwriters from Nashville, David Norris and CJ Watson, "Stronger Than Whiskey" has the passion delivered like it was intended by Nicholson. Watson has written songs for James Otto (Mercury), Mustang Sally (Asylum), Lisa Shaffer (Lyric Street), Jason Whitehorn (Arista) along with Norris being one of the most talented writers and producers in the industry, who just happens to be the producer on this project.

Nick New Nicholson is a native of Gray, TN, area and now resides outside of Phoenix, AZ. Nick dares to be different and takes Country to the next level, "I love to perform live and I love to entertain people. I long to leave the audience with something to talk about ’till next time!" Nicholson’s full CD should be complete by late summer. For more information on Nick Nicholson please visit www.myspace.com/nicknicholsonmusic

NickNicholsonBannerCountry That’s where the press release ended –but there is so much more I could say about this very likeable, talented entertainer. Nick has opened (or is scheduled to open) for Trent Tomlinson, the Bellamy Brothers, Chuck Wicks, and done pre-show concerts at events with Carrie Underwood, and at Country Thunder USA.

He’s played at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill on a number of occasions, and has more shows there coming up soon. Nick has a schedule of shows up on his web site, and while most of them are in the southwestern portion of the U.S., I’m hoping that will change real soon. Partly because I want to get him back in this area, and partly because I want all of you to have the chance to see him, too.

Check out this video, and let me know what you guys think of “Stronger Than Whiskey.” And when mid-April rolls around, I hope you’ll call your favorite radio station and request it. I’m ready to see Nick heading up the country music charts. And hopefully, taking his show all over the country. He’s an artist you will all enjoy seeing live.

I have to head to the office. You guys let me know what you think of Nick, and his new song. And Nashville, thank you! For taking a look at Nick Nicholson!

Talk to all of you real soon,
Country
