I’ve always been a Whitney Duncan fan. I’m one of the ones who remembers her from her days on Nashville Star. And I’m one of the ones who has been following her career since “Skinny Dippin’” hit local radio. And I’m definitely not the only Whitney fan. She has a huge following, and not without good reason.
She’s talented, beautiful, and just down-right friendly. I saw Whitney perform at The Rutledge in Nashville, in February, when she was part of the City of Hope benefit concert. She’s positively delightful. I’m so glad to see her taking part in this current USO tour to Kuait and Iraq. I can guarantee she’s going to be quite a morale booster for our men and women serving in those parts of the world.
If you missed that article, you might want to check it out – I put up a lot of pictures of Whitney with the City of Hope benefit concert post. You can look at them all here.
Before heading out, Whitney told RTT News, "Guess where I’m going in a lil over a week?? Kuwait & Iraq!! USO tour!!! Soooo excited! Gonna get to play for the guys that keep us safe:)." Good for you, Whitney.
The ladies over at Whitney’s Fan Site have a lot of pictures of her trip overseas. I’m using just a few of them here, but I hope you’ll visit her fan site, check out the rest of the pictures, and see what a great job they are doing with the site!
Whitney is getting ready to release her new album, “Right Road Now,” on April 20. In addition to “Skinny Dippin’,” The one we all know her for – Whitney has also written and performed songs with LeAnn Rimes, Crystal Shawanda, Lee Ann Womack and Kenny Rogers. And she currently has one on the radio with Jimmy Wayne, which is a great song, called “Just Knowing You Love Me.” Fantastic song!
Thanks so much to the folks at Whitney’s fan site for posting these pictures, and allowing me to share them with all of you. And, thanks Whitney, for taking your time to go entertain our troops over seas. I can’t pretend to know how much they appreciate what you are doing for them.
Time for me to head out of here – more later!
Have a great Friday!
