Little Big Town members Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, who welcomed 7 pound 14 ounce, 19-3/4 inch long, Elijah Dylan Westbrook to the world on March 5, 2010, have no introduced the little guy to us in pictures. I love People. They always seem to be the first ones to get the best pictures. The three on this post are from their web site and were taken by Kristin Barlow.
The article at People, talks about how the couple is sharing the responsibilities of taking care of little Elijah, especially when it comes to changing diapers. They have decided the best way to change a diaper is to use teamwork. “Elijah hates it, so one does the distraction and one does the work,” says Westbrook, 39, of their strategy. “I’m usually the one jumping around trying to distract him. There’s a lot of teamwork with us.” Whether it’s diaper duty or 2 a.m. feedings, the couple — who shared their first photos of their son, born March 5th, with PEOPLE — is relishing parenthood, Westbrook says.
Mom, Dad and little Elijah will be heading back on the road in May, touring with the other two Little Big Town members, Kimberly Roads Schipaman and Phillip Sweet. Jimi called this upcoming tour a “daunting” prospect. I’m sure it will be one that requires a lot of readjusting for the couple.
The group will be heading back out May 14, where they will be at Country Throwdown in Tampa, West Palm Beach and Jacksonville, Fla., on May 14, 15 and 16. Then after a few days off, Country Throwdown will take them to Cleveland, Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio and Chicago, Ill., on May 20, 21 and 22. You can get the whole schedule by visiting their Tour Dates page on their web site.
I’m off to a bridal shower. I’ll talk to you all real soon.Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
