Mark Chestnutt Mark Chesnutt will welcome sunny spring aboard a KC 135 jet alongside the Tennessee Air National Guard.  Taking his neo-traditional country sound to the Pacific, Chesnutt will play several shows at U.S. Air Force bases in South Korea.

Chesnutt will perform at Camp Casey April 8, Camp Humphreys April 9, and Kunsan Air Base April 10.  Since Chesnutt has performed for troops in the past, he is looking forward to doing so again. While in Korea, Mark will also tour the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), that separates North and South Korea.

“I’m very happy to be able to go visit our troops again this year,” Chesnutt said.  “These people just want to have a taste of home, and I plan on giving that to them.”

mark chestnutt 2 After spending a week in the Middle East last year as part of the “Stars For Stripes” tour, which featured stops in Iraq and Kuwait, Chesnutt was presented with the Challenge Coin, a thank you gift from the men and women in uniform. During his visit he performed five separate shows (one in Kuwait and four in Iraq). He enjoyed the opportunity to spend quality time with the troops including meet and greets in which Mark made personal introductions with each and every individual.

This year has already proven to be a great one for the veteran performer thanks to a busy show schedule including several dates on Tracy Lawrence’s “Country Rat Pack” tour. Set to join old friends on stage, Mark’s first “Country Rat Pack” show will take place April 3rd show in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Carrying the torch in the footsteps of George Jones and Waylon Jennings, Chesnutt plays nearly 100 dates a year and has performed a number of benefits during his 20 year career. He has four platinum albums, five gold albums, 14 No. 1 singles and 23 Top 10 singles to his name; his trademarked voice has shaped the music of today’s country newcomers and the new country generation.

If you haven’t listened to Mark for a while, I hope you’ll visit his MySpace page. He’s got a few songs up there you can listen to, including my favorite, “Rollin’ with the Flow.” And he’s got a schedule of shows listed there too. He’s always been one of my favorite artists.

I have to run. Talk to you all later!
