Taylor Swift has already appeared on more magazine covers than I can remember. I know she was on Elle, and on Your Prom, just to mention a few. And she was also No. 9 on Time magazine’s recent list of World’s Most Influential People. That’s ninth in the entire world. Now there’s an honor.
And of course we all know this talented young lady has also won every award out there – at least once. A few of those are awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, American Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards and the Grammy’s.
She’s sold more than 10 million albums. She’s been in movies, on a television drama (CSI), and she’s had her music in movies she wasn’t even in. And we can’t forget the comic book, Fame: Taylor Swift, that is in the works, and I believe will be available in July.
She has a new ad out with Sony, and Taylor can add the New Face of CoverGirl to her very long list of accomplishments. “I am so excited to become the next CoverGirl," the 20-year-old singer says. "I have admired many of the CoverGirls since I was a little girl…great artists and actresses who are confident and still themselves. It’s like a dream come true to be a part of the future of CoverGirl."
People Magazine tells us that Taylor has already done a photo shoot for the brand. The commercials are scheduled to start airing in January 2011. Here’s a little behind the scenes look from Disney Dreaming.
What do you guys think about “TV spokespeople”? I mean, I love Toby Keith. But I’ve always been a Chrysler person. I’m not going to buy a Ford just because Toby likes them. And Martina McBride – one of my favorites! But, I’m not running out buying Sunny D just because she says it’s good. Will I buy CoverGirl because Taylor Swift is talking it up? Probably not. But, I really do enjoy seeing my favorite country artists doing the commercials on TV. I just don’t think they could sell me anything. How about you guys? You buying things just because your favorite artist says it’s a good product?
That’s it for now. I need to get myself ready for work. I hope you all have a great Tuesday! Take care, and write when you have a chance. Some of you I haven’t heard from for a while!
