I just got home from Johnson City’s Blue Plum Festival. It was really nice. Lots of crafts, lots of food, and a lot of music! In addition to the stages set up down town, there were artists on the sidewalks, and artists in the streets – oh, and there were ARTISTS, too … people drawing and painting. We had clowns making balloon animals, mimes… definitely something for everyone.
I talked to a lot of people throughout the day, including 14-year-old Avery Deakins. Avery was sitting on a curb, playing guitar, and definitely entertaining the people passing by. He took requests from the crowd, and he did a really good Elvis. That’s Avery, in the blue – with a couple of his friends – or perhaps, fans.
Tonight, I’m just going to get some pictures of the festival up for all of you to see. Tomorrow morning, however, I have an article ready about a young singer from Knoxville, Tenn., who was performing at the festival tonight. Her name is Logan Murrell, and I believe you are all going to like this kid as much as I do.
We got lucky with the weather forecast – not a drop of rain, and I know everyone had a good time at the 3-day event.
If you don’t live around Johnson City, and you didn’t get to the festival tonight, here’s a little look at what you missed.
Check back in the morning for the article about Logan Murrell. I’m going to get ready for bed. You guys enjoy the rest of your Saturday night, and sleep well!
