I’ve been out a lot lately. I have to be out a lot this time of year. It’s summer. And summer in this part of the country means festivals, fairs and outside concerts. So while I’ve been off seeing singers, taking pictures, and putting up concert posts, I’ve definitely been ignoring my e-mail. Which, as most bloggers know is usually full of press releases.
This seemed like a good time to catch up on the baby news. Jay DeMarcus, of Rascal Flatts, and his wife Allison Alderson DeMarcus are expecting their first child in January. And Jay recently announced that they are having a girl. Jay told reporters "We’re very excited about that. It’s just what I need … another girl in the house!"
Joe Don Rooney has one son and has a baby girl on the way, due in September. Gary LaVox has two daughters, and Jay’s sister-in-law, Amy Otto (married to James Otto), also has a baby girl due in August. They’ve already named her, Ava Katherine Otto.
Josh Turner and his wife Jennifer are expecting their third child early in 2011. They have two sons now, Hampton is 3-1/2 years old, and Colby is 1. Josh said he comes from a big family, his mom was one of three and his dad was one of six. He said he’s always loved children. “They bring a lot of joy to the world and they make us adults look at things in a better way. So it’s a natural thing for me and Jennifer,” Josh said.
Dierks Bentley and his wife Cassidy are expecting their second child in December. Dierks told People magazine that he and Cassidy are excited that their daughter, Evie, is going to have a baby sister or brother for Christmas. Evie is nearly 2. That’s a handful! a two-year old and a new born. Dierks and Cassidy are going to be as busy as Josh and Caroline. but it’s going to be fun, too! Especially with their new one coming around Christmas.
That should catch us up with baby news for right now. We did just get through Carrie’s wedding, and we still have Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs engaged, along with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. We all knew Carrie would make a beautiful bride – and we were right. But I’m also anxious to see wedding pictures from the next two country music marriages — not sure when that will happen, but am sure they will be beautiful, too!
Talk to you guys tomorrow – much more news to tell you all about. With vacations still to take, and lots of concerts and fair shows in the works, I will try to get something here for you every chance I get!
