For the past several days I have been telling you all about the Thursday night show at Kingsport’s FunFest. With two fantastic opening acts, the crowd was enjoying every minute of the entertainment leading up to Jason Michael Carroll’s show.
I’ve been a long-time Jason Michael Carroll fan. I’ve seen him in concert previously, and I enjoyed seeing him again. I understand why his audience likes to be up close to the stage. He definitely looks at them, smiles at then, sings to them, and shakes more hands from stage than any artist I have ever seen. Young, old, male, female… anyone with arms long enough to reach up for a handshake are going to get one.
A few days ago, I put up an article about Jason’s early-morning meet and greet at the mall in Kingsport. It was easy to realize at that event, that Jason’s connection with his fans is not just one that comes while he is on stage. He has an honest and sincere desire to talk to his fans, and you can tell he cares about what they are saying. I was impressed with how many of his fans he remembered, from other shows or other meet and greets.
Great kid, great music, really great performance from someone who absolutely enjoyed being on stage for us. I’ll let the pictures take over form here.
That finishes up the Thursday concerts at FunFest. Tomorrow I’ll tell you about Saturday night’s show – the final event for the 2010 FunFest in Kingsport, Tenn. Thanks again to Jason for coming out to spend the evening with us – and thanks to everyone involved in putting on this awesome event every year.
Enjoy what’s left of your weekend – talk to you real soon!
