I received a press release yesterday about a new CD, available Aug. 3. I wanted to pass it on to you as I received it. Now it does mention a few of my favorite people, so I will do some of that ‘adding to the release’ stuff that I do now and then … but to get you started, here is the press release:
What do you get when you mix up some of country music’s hottest new artists with the biggest and baddest of weekend crazes? MUD DIGGER! Now available on iTunes and headed to Wal-Mart August 3rd.
Average Joes Entertainment recording artists Colt Ford, Brantley Gilbert, Matt Stillwell, Sunny Ledfurd and Lenny Cooper team up for a CD full of new and exclusive tracks that celebrate true country pastimes. You don’t need a big truck to dig these tracks but you do need a CD player.
These hot new country artists have seen incredible success individually this year, and this CD highlights fan favorite tracks like "Mudd Digger" (over 18,000 paid iTunes downloads and over 1,000,000 YouTube views to date,) "Kick it in the Sticks" (selling over 1,200 iTunes downloads a week and with over 500,000 YouTube views,) and "Dirt Road Dancing" (currently #2 on GAC’s "The Top Picks Channel".)
Mud Digger also features never-released tracks "Nothing in Particular (Remix)" and "If it Ain’t One Thing (It’s Your Mother)" and tracks previously unavailable on CD such as "Shindig" and "Butterfly Tattoo."
I’m a long-time Matt Stillwell fan. I thin his current single “Dirt Road Dancin’” is great. Brantley Gilbert’s “My Kind of Crazy” is a song I listen to often. Brantley’s web site says that he is “between country and a rock-hard place.” That’s a really good description of Brantley, who I thought was country after his first CD, but kind of changed my mind after his second one. Still, he has a lot I like to listen to.
Colt’s music isn’t really my kind of country. I think he’s a cool guy, and I like the people he has singing with him – and at least his music sounds country. All except for the rapping part. I just can’t get into that. But, I still think he’s a pretty neat guy, and I’m looking forward to seeing him in August in Gray, Tenn.
I’ve got a busy day planned. So that will do it for this morning. I will get your mail answered soon. Thanks so much for writing!
