We have a lot of new albums coming out next month, and one of my favorite artists is in that list. Billy Currington will be releasing his new album, “Enjoy Yourself,” on Sept. 21. And my new favorite Billy Currington son, his current hit “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer,” is on the new album.
I call that my “new” favorite Billy Currington hit, because I have come to the conclusion this man just can’t put out a song that I don’t like. “People Are Crazy,” “Good Directions,” and everything else Billy has done immediately jumped to the top of my “that’s my favorite Billy Currington son” list.
"It’s a great mix. It reflects who I am," Billy says about the collection of 10 songs on the new project. "I’m definitely not just one thing. I’m the beach guy, I’m the country guy, I love my dirt roads and fishin’, but I love New York City and L.A. and Miami, too."
Between now and the album release date, Billy will be part of the ABC Special “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” which airs Sept. 1. The show is hosted by Tim McGraw, and the evening will include Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Jamey Johnson, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood.
Tonight I’m headed to the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn., to see Danny Gokey. Be sure to check back often this week – I may not get something up every day, but I’ll do my best to keep you all up-to-date with performance reviews and photos from this week’s fair. That will be Danny Gokey, Jaron and the Long Road to Love, Kevin Fowler, Colt Ford, Tyler Farr, David Nail, The Band Perry, and Troy Olsen.
That’s it for now – you guys have a fantastic Monday, and I will talk to you just as soon as I can. Drop me a line when you get a minute – always love hearing from you!
