I’m really lucky to live in Northeast Tennessee. Not only do we have some of the most talented people anywhere, but we also have fantastic organizations like the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, who brings us their Twilight Concert Series each summer, as well as Steel Creek Park in Bristol and Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, both are places you will find your share of free concerts. And all of these places (and others) bring us some of the best entertainment you can hope to find anywhere.
On Thursday night, Aug. 12, 2010, everyone who went to Broad Street in Kingsport, Tenn., was treated to a fantastic concert by Brinley Addington and his band. Brinley has a number of dates on his list of upcoming shows, He will be in Robinsonville, Miss., on Aug. 20-21, at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino; on Aug. 27, Knoxville has him at the Tin Roof Knoxville; and on Sept. 1, you can catch him in Nashville at Exit/In.
Brinley will be back in my part of the state on Sept. 18, at Rythm & Roots Festival in Bristol; and on Sept. 24 he’s headed to Bongo Java in Nashville. On Oct. 25, he will be at 12th and Porter in Nashville.
I hope you will all visit Brinley’s MySpace page, read about him, and listen to his music. He’s another one of my favorites, and someone who is sure to go far with his music. I’d like to know what you all think of “Why I Never Will.” There is a video on MySpace, and I don’t mind telling you – this one is right up at the top of my list of ‘favorite Brinley songs’.
Brinley has already opened for Jack Ingram, Marty Stuart, James Otto, John Michael Montgomery, Gavin DeGraw, and Relient K, and I have a feeling that list is going to get a lot longer in the months and years ahead. His bio says, “Brinley is currently developing his performing and songwriting skills in Nashville as he strives to write and record country music that honors the traditions established by his musical heroes and the values he was raised to uphold”.
Picture time. I think you’ll be able to see why everyone had such a great time at this show.
That’s going to do it for this morning. You guys enjoy your weekend. Try to stay cool! And by all means, drop me an e-mail when you have a chance. Always love hearing from you. I need to say thank you to the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, and to Brinley and this band for another great show!
More Later,
Country

His band is just awesome and Brinley interacts with a crowd just like the star he is–but he is so down to earth–taking the time to talk to everyone and sign cds!!We were really amazed by his performance!!We can’t wait to see his success in the future!
